career exploration map

introduction

Goal: Clarify my interests and identify career paths to prioritize during my job search.

Chasing music full-time as an independent artist has lead to severe burnout and low self-confidence, especially without a strong support system. The constant pressure to market, network, and create—without guaranteed financial stability—drains passion and makes every setback feel personal. My struggle with finding a good flow in social media has made it even harder to navigate the industry, where clout/followers often dictates opportunities.

A better path for me is securing a well-paying job that keeps me engaged, helps me build meaningful connections, and gives me the financial freedom to create music on my own terms. Instead of forcing creativity under stress, I can make music when I’m genuinely inspired, which will likely lead to better artistic output and a more sustainable career.

I’ve balanced music with service jobs for over a decade—if I could sustain my creativity then, a well-paying corporate job will only give me more stability and freedom to create.

FINAL THOUGHTS

My mind map clearly shows that I have a strong mix of creativity, organization, and problem-solving skills. A structured job in project management or tech will give me the stability I need while allowing me to continue making music without burnout. I know from experience that I can sustain my creativity while working, so a well-paying career won't take away from my artistic side—it will actually give me more freedom to create on my own terms.

Right now, my best path forward is to focus on careers that align with my strengths in organization and creative strategy. Project management, product management, and tech-adjacent roles offer strong salaries and opportunities for growth while still being engaging. I need to decide if I want to invest time into learning coding and AI or focus more on project management and operations.

Once I have a clear direction, I can start building the right skills, applying for jobs, and networking with the right people to create a career that supports both my financial stability and my creative goals.
