Increasingly complex

The world is becoming more complex and the volume of knowledge is increasing.

Problems of today's world

There are many problems in today's world, including information overload, misinformation, and attempts to manipulate public opinion.

Pressure to perform

The time we have to complete individual tasks is reduced or more work is expected in the same time period.

The need for the Big Picture

In order to solve complex problems efficiently, we need to see the Big Picture. We need to understand the individual parts of the issue and understand how these parts are interconnected. Gaining such an insight is an extremely demanding process. Both the form and quality of materials affect its difficulty.

The need for quick solutions

Nowadays, we often encounter an iterative process of work, where we make a minimal prototype very quickly, regardless the quality. It is gradually improved until the result is satisfactory. This goes hand in hand with great pressure on speed in deciding which way to go and in solving partial problems.

The need for teamwork

Two heads are better than one. In a team, you can handle more difficult tasks in less time. This is the key in pursuit of higher performance.

The problem of the linear form

The current scientific understanding shows that it is stored as a network. But we still communicate in the narrative form - first A, then B, then C, ... We are forced to pass the structure in a linear form of text or speach and it is up to the other party to rebuild the network from it. This "linearization process" does not support the passing on of the Big Picture well. As a result, very little, if any, is conveyed. Usually, only data is passed on and everyone has to build the Big Picture themselves. data-transfere-with-questionmarks

Centralized content

The centralized content enables us to fully focus on our work without loosing the Big Picture. When working with content spread across multiple locations, we lose efficiency by constantly moving our focus. Also, we must devote some of our attention to just remember where each information is.

Fragmented information

The information is often divided among many sources. It is up to us to abstract it. Only then, we can start to build our understanding.

Nonlinear form

At this point, we are already encountering the limits of the classical form. This form consists of a sequence of information, where we gradually move from one information to another. Understanding is built by our brain as a by-product.

We must introduce a new form as a standard. Its core is a visual decomposition of information into parts, interconnected according to their relations. This puts much more focus on the Big Picture.

We have to change the way we think

In particular, we need to change the ways we divide, organize and convey information. We need to focus on the Big Picture and the understanding of the interconnections among data.

OrgPad

OrgPad is a platform for creating nonlinear and centralized content. To enable work in teams, strong support for cooperative work and sharing is integrated. It is not only a revolutionary idea, but also a very good tool.

The goal of OrgPad is for everyone to use it for everything.

Misidentification of the pivotal parts

Quality must be given priority over speed when working on pivotal parts of any project. It is absolutely crucial that we have the Big Picture at that point, to be able to identify those pivotal places.

The needs are met at most partially

Efficiency decreases in large teams

Teams must be organized. People need to communicate, share and synchronize their work. In addition, teams have to withstand staff changes, capacity outages and other problems. Therefore, efficiency decreases very quickly as teams grow. The training time of newcomers increases with growing complexity of projects, while the teams slow down in the process.
